It is believed that this place is blessed with holy powers. Hindus traditionally come here to perform Pind Daan to honor their parents or ancestors and people get together in large numbers to perform the last rites of their departed family members to free them from the sufferings of hell and send them to heaven. As we say that the king of holy place is Prayag. The Guru of holy place is Pushkar. Thus Gayaji is called the soul of holy place. (Written in Veda Purana) Gayaji is the only place where Hindus worship their parents, ancestors along with God.
